Thai Boxing (Muay Thai) or "Kick Boxing", is a martial art that is known worldwide.It is one of the most dangerous forms of fighting in the world.
Originally, Thai Boxing was a self-defense system used by Thai warriors , many techniques are inspired by battle stories of the Ramakien.

Wai Kru, a classical ritual, is the first part of Thai Boxing Dance(Ram Muay).The boxers kneel and bow to their trainer(pay homage to their teacher or trainer(Kru)) three times.After the Wai Kru, a ritual dance(Ram Muay), follows.The boxers perform a slow dance with rhythm of a ringside phipat band.Each boxer dances in his style according to his camp, but usually involve with sweeping arm motions.The performance for his safety and victory.
Thai traditional music
During, the fight, the ringside band(Thai orchestra) plays an improvised noise.Its rhythm depend on the action of the boxers.The shouting from excited audience combine with the noise from the band, adding tention to the match.
Thai Boxing VS. Western Boxing
The differences between Thai Boxing and Western Boxing are that Thai Boxers are allowed to use their feet, knees, elbows, shoulders, fists, and legs.Anyway butting, spitting, biting and kicking an opponent when he is down are all not allowed.Thai Boxing matchs are limited to five three-minute rounds separated with two-minute break.Thai Boxer use 6 to 10 ounce boxing gloves, but no shoes(bare feet).There are 16 weight divisions in Thai Boxing, ranking from Miniflyweight to Heavyweight.

- Lumpini Boxing Stadium (สนามมวยลุมพินี) is an indoor sporting arena located on Rama IV Road in Bangkok, Thailand.Thai Boxing contests take place on every Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The fights start at 6.00 p.m. Ticket prices range from 200 to 2,000 Baht.
- Ratchadamnern Boxing Stadium (สนามมวยราชดำเนิน) is an indoor sporting arena located on Ratchadamnern Nok Avenue in Bangkok, Thailand.Thai Boxing contests take place on every Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. The fights start at 6.30 p.m. Ticket prices range from 500 (third class) to 2,000 (ring-side) Baht.

There are so many foreigners who love "Muay Thai" and want to come for Thai Boxing training.Not only men can learn Thai Boxing but right now we find out that half of the trainees are women.
